Design Challenge: Create a family history book using testimonials from family members and photographs from different family members.
Process: The book is told through the voices of three generations: my paternal grandmother, my father’s, and mine. Each of these three ‘chapters’ are then also split into stories from each part of the world that my family was in at the time. The color pallet is based off colors I associate with those places. The titles of each section are in English and Hebrew because of my family’s ties to Israel.
The centerfold is a collage of old family photos which I edited to look more cohesive. At the end of the book (page 30) I created a legend for descriptions of the photos. I did not want to add type to this page because it would disrupt the flow.
