Design Challenge: Design seed packets for a local seed bank.
Process: I chose to make packets for vegetable seeds rather than flowers as a way to challenge myself. I did some research and found that this seed bank stores their seeds in pull out drawers so I needed something that could be easily identified by flipping through.
These square packets easily show the type of vegetable, planting season, storage life, user experience level, storage and growth temperature, and days to maturity, depending on which way it is standing on the shelf.
Once opened, the packets have storage directions and an “About Us” section as well as a drawing of the vegetable. This can be seen in the shop without fully opening the packet.
The packets contain no glue and are biodegradable.
